We are looking for School Receptionist.
Who are we? We at International School of Budapest, we’re dedicated to providing top-notch international and bilingual education to both Hungarian and international students. With over 25 years of experience, we’ve created a supportive and motivated community that empowers our students to become responsible individuals and lifelong learners. Our unique educational environment encourages students to explore diverse cultures and perspectives, all within an international and bilingual Hungarian curriculum.
Do you enjoy working with children and feel confident communicating in both Hungarian and English? Then this role might feel like home.
It’s 8:00 a.m. The school day begins, the doors open, and you’re there — the first smile at the entrance and the calm, friendly point of reference everyone can rely on all the way through the afternoon, until 5:00 p.m. And yes: when someone suddenly needs a band-aid, they’ll come to you, too.
Parents, children, and prospective families will stop by your desk throughout the day. You’ll be the first person they meet — welcoming them, answering questions, giving information, and guiding them to the right place or person, in both Hungarian and English.
Alongside the front desk, you’ll also take part in office and secretarial support: handling phone calls, completing data entry, and helping with everyday administration.
You’ll play an important role in managing daily mail as well — registering and routing it, checking and sending items, and during school breaks, coordinating who receives postal deliveries.
Access and security procedures are a key part of the role. You’ll take care of the full administration of keys and access control (tracking, issuing, documentation, filing), and you’ll help ensure the school’s entry rules are followed while supervising the access system. And if someone loses his/her access card — it happens — you’ll be the person they come to for help.
School life is full of events, and you’ll be part of that energy, too: Open Days, Family/Trial Days, exhibitions, and parent visits — we’ll count on your support in making these run smoothly.
You’ll also help coordinate facilities operations by keeping an eye on and following up with service teams such as cleaning, maintenance, and security — coordinating tasks and checking that work is completed as needed.
Formal requirements for the position
- At least a completed secondary education (preferably with a relevant qualification)
- Conversational level English
- Advanced knowledge of office applications
- Clean criminal record and legal capacity
Competencies we value
- Ethical and confidential handling of information
Warm, considerate, and polite communication
Application Process
Interested candidates are invited to send their CV, to recruitment@isb.hu
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
