After School Activities

The ISB ASA Programme of after-school activities enables all students to discover their passions outside of the classroom. Our co-curricular programme directly supports the school’s mission, introducing students to a range of interests that provide opportunities for personal development beyond the curriculum.

Our extensive programme offers activities across two semesters. With options for all grade levels and preferences, ISB ASA provides a safe, inclusive space for students to learn new skills, refine existing ones, and explore their passions.

Woodwork Club / grade prep – 4

Led by Marika Ferenczy

During the club, they will learn to use woodworking tools safely and create wooden toys and other items. Every child who would like to work with wood is welcome to join!

Science Club / Grade 3 – 5

Led by Jordan Santiago

A hands-on club designed to nurture curiosity and problem-solving. Children take part in simple experiments, creative investigations, and fun challenges that make science exciting and accessible.

Primary Choir Club / grade 2 – 5

Led by Andrea Almádi

Calling all young singers in Grades 2–5! Join the ISB Primary Choir and discover the joy of singing together. The ISB Primary Choir is open to students who like to learn new songs, enjoy making music with friends. and would like to develop their confidence and musical skills in a fun, supportive environment. No previous choir experience is required — just come and let your voice shine!

StArs Club – Speech and Theater Arts Club / grade 3 – 5

StArs Club would give students opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, communication, and performance skills through speech, storytelling, improvisation, role-play, theater games, and short performances.

Spanish Language Club / Grade 3 – 5

Led by Juan Blasco

Spanish Club is a fun after-school club just for Grade 3- 5 students! You will learn simple Spanish words and phrases, play games and learn about cool traditions from Spanish-speaking countries. You don’t need to know any Spanish to join—just come ready to have fun and learn something new!

Chess club / Grade 5 – 8

Reading Club / Grade 3 – 5

A relaxed and welcoming space where children enjoy listening to stories, sharing their favourite books, and reading independently. The club encourages a love of reading while gently supporting comprehension and confidence.

Art Club / Grade Prep – 3

Do you love colors, paper, beautiful colored pencils, brushes, paints, modeling clay, textiles, and other interesting materials? Are you curious about famous artists and why they became so renowned? Do you enjoy looking at illustrations in storybooks and admiring beautiful images? Robotics & programming club / Grade 3-4

Led by Team Funside

In this module, students explore the world of electronics and programming through creative, project-based activities. Using Arduino and Makey Makey, we experiment with circuits, transform everyday objects into interactive devices, and build our own game controllers and smart devices using joysticks, LEDs, buttons, buzzers, and various sensors.
Throughout the module, students learn the fundamentals of electronics and how circuits work in a safe and accessible way, without the need for soldering.

Ceramics Club / grade 3 – 5

Welcome to the Ceramics After-school Club, where creativity takes shape! Are you ready to get your hands dirty and craft beautiful pottery and sculptures? Join us for an artistic journey filled with clay, colors, and endless possibilities. Whether you’re a budding artist or have never touched clay before, our club is open to everyone. We’ll explore the art of ceramics, from hand-building techniques to glazing, and create unique pieces of art. So roll up your sleeves, spark your imagination, and let’s mold some masterpieces together.

Piano club / Grade Prep – 12

Welcome to the Piano Club! Are you ready to dive into the world of music and create beautiful melodies? Join us for an exciting musical journey where you’ll explore the rt of piano playing. Whether you’re a complete novice or have some piano experience, our club is open to everyone. Get ready to unlock the magic of the piano, develop your musical skills, and make wonderful music together. Let’s strike the right chord and have some musical fun!

Homework Club / Grade 1 – 5

This club will provide an opportunity to write homework. We ask parents to make sure that children have the necessary material for writing the homework.

Sport

Cricket / grade 2 – 8 

Led by Duncan Shoebridge 

Come and play the second most popular game in England, which is popular with boys but the girls game is growing strong world wide. Last year we had a good mixture of boys and girls. The children will get to learn how to play cricket matches and have fun as they bat, bowl and field. Cricket is great game for hand-eye coordination development and co-ordination as we sometimes also have time to learn catching skills. We as a Club also play tournaments against other countries and children from the school last year were part of our trips. 

Football / grade prep – 5 

Led by Csanád Magonyi 

Come and develop your football skills! The sessions will be drill based, working on dribbling, passing, controlling the ball, and shooting. On the last week of each Month, we will have a tournament, where the children will be split into equal teams and the winners will have a chance to earn a point for their house.

PLEASE NOTE children will not be taught heading as no child under the age of 11, should NOT be heading the ball when playing football!

Swimming / grade prep – 8

Tennis club / Grade 1 – 4 

Led by Attila Bozsik

The tennis club is a great opportunity right next to our school. They will start learning the basics of tennis, forehand, backhand, and how to serve. We have skilled instructors and good quality courts. Safety and security of our students during tennis sessions are of paramount importance. Tennis coaches will assume responsibility for the students’ well-being. They will be present at the school premises to accompany students to the tennis courts located at Hauszmann Alajos ut 5, Gabányi László Sportcsarnok. They will walk over (short 5min walk)! Following the practice, which concludes at 3:55 pm, the coaches will ensure a safe return to the school. 

Tennis club / Grade 5 – 10 

Led by Attila Bozsik

The safety of our students remains our top priority, particularly during our extended tennis club hours. Tennis coaches will be responsible to supervise and safeguard the students. They will be present at the school to guide the students to the tennis courts situated at Hauszmann Alajos ut 5, Gabányi László Sportcsarnok (short 5 minutes’ walk). Kindly note that parents are requested to pick up their children promptly at the Gabányi László Sportcsarnok by 5:00 pm.  

Taekwondo / Grade 1 – 4

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, which teaches traditional values such as humility, persistance and respect. WT Taekwondo is also an Olympic sport, so it is perfect as a competitive sport as well. It improves stamina, strength and flexibility.

Dance Club 1/ Grade Prep – 2  

Led by Almira Martina Vajnai-Yut

For our youngest dancers, the club will be a playful introduction to dance, rhythm, and music.

Students will:

• Learn basic dance techniques in a fun and age-appropriate way
• Explore rhythm, coordination, and musicality
• Play exciting dance-related games
• Learn fun and easy-to-follow choreography
• Develop confidence and creativity
• Have lots of opportunities to move, laugh, and express themselves!

Secondary Clubs and After School programs

English Booster 

The English Booster sessions focus on developing reading, writing, and analytical skills through engaging exercises, discussions, and targeted feedback to help students succeed in English classes and beyond. 

German Booster 

The German Booster Club supports students in improving their grammar, vocabulary, and conversation skills through fun and practical exercises that bring language learning to life.

Spanish Booster 

The Spanish Booster offers students the opportunity to enhance their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while exploring Spanish culture through games, songs, and collaborative activities. 

Math Booster 

The Math Booster Club provides extra support and enrichment for students who want to strengthen their problem-solving skills, prepare for assessments, and build confidence in mathematics through interactive activities and small-group practice. 

Geography Club 

The Geography Club invites students to explore the world’s landscapes, cultures, and environmental challenges through discussions, map skills, quizzes, and creative projects. 

Model United Nations (MUN) 

The MUN Club develops students’ public speaking, research, and negotiation skills as they take on the roles of diplomats to debate global issues and propose solutions in simulated UN sessions. 

Postcrossing Club 

The Postcrossing Club connects students with peers around the world through the exchange of postcards, encouraging cultural understanding, global awareness, and creative communication.
