We have many good reasons for your children to learn with us!
Our academic program is a unique combination of the skills-based method of Cambridge International curriculum and the lexical knowledge-based method of the Hungarian curriculum. The students of our International Academic Program follow the world recognized Cambridge International Curriculum. The students of our Bilingual Academic Program follow both the Curriculum Framework for Bilingual Schools of the Hungarian National Curriculum and the Curriculum Framework of the Cambridge International Examinations’ curriculum.
Our average class size is 14-18. As a result, we can ensure individual attention is paid to every student, and that the personal needs of each child are taken into consideration to achieve their maximum educational progress.
We believe that appropriate emotional, psychological and physical progress of a child is indispensable for their mental development. ISB is a truly friendly and caring school with a family-like atmosphere.
The average time spent at ISB for a staff member is 6 years, and there are several teachers working with us for more than 10 years. Their professionalism and creativity make learning a joyful experience for the students every day.
The Hungarian community at ISB supports the integration of foreign or returning families into the Hungarian social life. Foreign children quickly and easily integrate into Hungarian community, whilst sharing much new knowledge and customs with their Hungarian friends.
At the end of Grade 5 (Key Stage 2), Grade 8 (Key Stage 3) and Grade 10 (Key Stage 4, IGCSE) the children can take official Cambridge examinations. ISB is an IB World School and offers the IB Diploma Programme to suitable Grade 11 Students. The two-year course of study leads to final examinations in six subject areas and a qualification widely recognized by the world’s leading colleges and universities.

What is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme?
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a rigorous and internationally recognised qualification taught in close to 4000 schools spanning roughly 155 countries that prepares students for success at university and beyond. Designed for students aged 16–19, the DP challenges young people to excel academically while developing strong critical thinking, research and communication skills. Its broad and balanced curriculum encourages intellectual curiosity and a global perspective, qualities highly valued by universities and employers worldwide.
What sets the DP apart is its commitment to educating the whole student. Through its unique core components — Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) — students learn to think deeply, act responsibly and engage meaningfully with the world around them. The result is confident, principled and reflective learners, well equipped to thrive in a rapidly changing global society.
