We have many good reasons for your children to learn with us!
A relatively small school by design, ISB keeps class sizes averaging 14–20 so every student is known, supported and pushed to grow, both academically and personally. As the school grows toward its target of around 450 students, staying personal, not just staying small, is the priority.
Hungarian and international students learn side by side at ISB, not in parallel tracks. That balance is deliberate: it’s one of the qualities the school is committed to protecting as it grows, creating an intercultural environment where global perspectives and local roots reinforce each other rather than compete.
Students learn in an authentic English-speaking environment with experienced international teachers, following the Cambridge International Curriculum alongside the Hungarian National Core Curriculum. ISB is an authorised IB World School offering the IB Diploma Programme, one of the most widely respected pathways to universities worldwide.
High academic expectations and genuine wellbeing aren’t traded off against each other at ISB. Inquiry, motivation and responsibility are values students are actively encouraged to practice, not just words on a wall, and they shape daily life across the school community.
ISB teachers stay: the average tenure is six years, with many well past ten. That continuity means students are taught by people who know the school, the curriculum, and often the student themselves, over multiple years, not just one.
ISB students take part in international programmes including Erasmus+ partnerships, building connections beyond Budapest as part of the school’s plan to widen its international reach through 2030. Combined with modern, collaborative learning spaces already in development, this is a school actively investing in what comes next, not standing still.

What is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme?
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a rigorous and internationally recognised qualification taught in close to 4000 schools spanning roughly 155 countries that prepares students for success at university and beyond. Designed for students aged 16–19, the DP challenges young people to excel academically while developing strong critical thinking, research and communication skills. Its broad and balanced curriculum encourages intellectual curiosity and a global perspective, qualities highly valued by universities and employers worldwide.
