At ISB, we believe that strong schools are built on strong partnerships between students, families and staff. Parents are an essential part of our school community, and meaningful communication and active participation help create a welcoming, inclusive and connected environment for everyone.
Throughout the 2026–2027 academic year, we will continue to strengthen school-home communication by providing clear, timely and relevant information, while creating opportunities for parents to participate, share feedback and contribute to the life of the school.
Staying Connected
To make communication more effective and accessible, ISB uses a range of communication channels, each serving a specific purpose.
Our parent communication platform will serve as the central hub for day-to-day school information and operational communication. Depending on the platform in use, this may include:
- School calendars and important dates
- Attendance and absence reporting
- Permission forms and school documents
- Classroom and school announcements
- Teacher communication
- Event information and registration
- Emergency notifications
Routine administrative information will be shared through the parent platform whenever possible, helping us reduce unnecessary emails and ensure that important messages are easy to find.
Community Newsletter
The ISB Community Newsletter will be published at the end of each month and will bring together the most important news, upcoming events and highlights from across the school community.
The newsletter will also provide an opportunity to celebrate student learning, achievements, activities and community stories, with the Head of School’s message included regularly.
Our aim is to make the newsletter visually engaging, easy to navigate and focused on the information and stories that matter most to our community.

The ISB website is the school’s primary public communication platform and provides information for current and prospective families, students, and the wider community.

Parent Association
The Parent Association (PA) provides an important link between families and school leadership. It offers parents an opportunity to share constructive feedback, ideas and suggestions, as well as to contribute to school activities and community initiatives.
The PA meets several times throughout the academic year, and parent representatives communicate the views and recommendations of the wider parent community to school leadership.
Parent Engagement Opportunities
Throughout the year, parents will have a range of opportunities to participate in school life, connect with staff and other families, and experience their children’s learning environment.

Open Days and Classroom Visits
In addition to Open Days for prospective families, ISB provides opportunities for current parents to experience school life from the inside.
Parents may be invited to observe lessons, classroom activities, performances and other school events. These opportunities provide a valuable insight into students’ everyday experiences and support a stronger connection between home and school.
Parent Feedback
Communication at ISB is a two-way process. We value the experience and perspective of our families and actively encourage constructive feedback throughout the academic year.
Parents can share their views through:
- Parent Association meetings
- Leadership Team Coffee Mornings
- Direct conversations with staff
- School events and community activities
Feedback is reviewed and used to inform future communication planning, educational development and improvements to the school experience.
School Reports and Academic Communication
Students receive comprehensive school reports at the end of each semester, providing families with a detailed overview of their academic progress and development.
Teachers remain available to parents through school email, consultation hours and pre-arranged individual meetings. Parent-Teacher Conferences are also held twice during the academic year, providing dedicated opportunities to discuss students’ academic and social development.
E-Kréta
Families participating in the bilingual or international programme both use e-Kréta alongside the school’s other communication platforms to access grades, evaluations and academic information.
Student Voice
An engaged school community also depends on giving students an active voice.
The Student Councils represent their peers and provide an important link between students and school administration. Students have opportunities to share concerns, ideas and suggestions, contribute to school initiatives and support community events.
The councils also encourage student participation, responsibility and school pride. Student representatives maintain regular communication with school leadership, ensuring that students’ perspectives are considered in the development of school life.
The Chairperson of the Student Council is elected by the students.
