ASSESSMENT DAY

To be enrolled in our school, your child needs to participate in our Assessment Programme. Admission fee Participation in the assessment programme is payable. (Information: Tutition Contribution ).

We ask for the completed Admission Registration Form and the requested documents to apply for admission. After submitting the documents, we will agree on the date of the assessment programme. After the consultation, we issue and send the admission fee invoice by email. The student can participate in the assessment programme with proof of payment of the fee.

Please be aware that by filling in our online form, you give your consent for ISB to assess your child’s level of English, and based on the result, the English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme might be needed for admission of the child to ISB. In such a case, participation in ISB’s EAL programme is mandatory.

Primary School (Preparatory – Grade 5)

As part of the assessment programme, we hold an online (grades 1-5) and personal assessment for students. Children applying to primary school can spend a morning at our school with students of a similar age in a group or class.

It is important for us to see how a child can use their existing English language skills when learning material required in each school subject, as well as during classroom communication. So, please consider measuring the language proficiency of your child as a condition assessment and not as a fateful exam. It is important for all parties to know whether targeted development of a child’s English language skills is necessary or not. If yes, to what extent, as this fundamentally affects the success of the child’s integration. Also, we assess the applying child’s knowledge in mathematics, and in the case of children applying for the bilingual programme, their academic level in Hungarian, too – compared to the level of ISB students.

Secondary School (Grade 6 – 12)

Applicants for secondary school take part in an online test at school. For this, we ask them to provide a laptop and headphones. After the test, prospective students have an interview with our secondary school’s academic leaders.

APPLICATION

ISB accepts applications and enrolments throughout the year in all grades provided there are free places. For enrolment to ISB, children need to take part in our Assessment Programme.

After the assessment program, the school notifies the parents of the school’s decision in writing. By accepting the written admission offer, we ask for the specified enrolment documents to be handed in at the school office.
